The province of Lambayeque is located on the Northern coast of Peru. Forests,
valleys and desert zones combine.
Chiclayo, located in a rich, agricultural region, is a city with a warm climate.
The city turned into an important economical and commercial center in the North
of Peru.
An active city in the full process of modernization, Chiclayo is the center of
different communication ways. Thus, an intense commercial traffic is carried out,
between the towns of the North coast and Amazonia and Sierra.

Tourist Site Attractions:
City of Lambayeque, located at 12 kilometers from Chiclayo. It is characterized
by its vice-royal houses; among which Casa Cuneo and Casa Descalzi stand out.
In the town of Lambayeque, it is interesting to visit: The colonial houses with
wide patios that surround the Cathedral. And the churches San Francisco, Santa
Catalina, San Roque and Santa Lucia.
Pimentel Spa, located at 11 kilometers from Chiclayo. Ideal to practice
surfing. Besides observing the fishermen navigating in their ancient "caballitos
de totora" (totora horses), traditional rafts used since pre-columbian times.
Archeological site Huaca Rajada (Señor de Sipan), located at 35 kilometers from
Chiclayo. Place where in 1987 the intact remains of a dignitary of the mochica
hierarchy - warrior priest - was found. The important discovery can only be
compared to the finding of the tumb of the Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankamon in 1922.
The construction is formed by a low platform and two pyramids of adobe. In the
finding, the tumb of the dignitary turned out to be accompanied by the remains
of a warrior, a priest, two women, a child, a llama and a guardian with the
feet cut out. Besides of numerous jewels of gold and silvers.
At present, the tumb of Señor de Sipan, restored in 1988, can be seen in the
Bruning Museum where there are exhibits of more than 500 pieces from different
cultures; an armored chamber keeps hundreds of objects and in the basement a well
lit urn of glass with the remains of Señor de Sipan.
Archeological site of Tucume or Valley of the Pyramids, is characterized by
its 26 pyramids; among which La Huaca del Pueblo, La Raya, El Sol and Las
Estacas stand out. It located at only one kilometer from the town of Tucume, a
community committed with the conservation of its natural and cultural patrimony.
This site dates back from 700 A.D.
Historical Sanctuary Bosque de Pomac, located at 40 kilometers from Chiclayo.
In this forest with varied flora, the archeological remains of the Sican culture
were found. 20 pre-incaic structures were found, like: Huaca Las Ventanas, Huaca
Lucia, Huaca la Merced or Huaca Rodillona, among others.
Archeological site of Huaca Chotuna, located at 12 kilometers from Chiclayo. A group
of pyramids and enclosures in an area of approximately 20 hectares. This site is
related to the legend of Naylamp.
