Climbing the Huascaran

Itineraries:

1 Day.Lima – Huaraz

Reception in Huaraz: PERU BERGSPORT personnel will be waiting for the passengers in the bus station, and then transfer to the passengers to the selected Hotel, and briefing for the programs.

2 Day. Huaraz – Acclimatizing day – Pastoruri Glacier

Full day tour, after the breakfast in the Hotel, we will aboard our private bus, and leave to south side Huaraz passing for different small and typical towns of Recuay 3400, Ticapampa 3470, Catac 3640 and the small village Pachacoto 3700, from here we’ll leave the high way and continue in the east side surrounded by a lot of straw and we will start enjoying the beautiful landscape that matches the blue sky and the darkled green hills and far from here the snow peaked white mountains will match the landscape, the first turistic place that we will appreciate will be the Patococha lake, after it we’ll get in to the national park and we’ll find the gasified water from Pumapampa, a few kilometer from here we’ll make stop in a small colored lake called Pumapashimin that Changes its colors caused by solar radiation. At the same time we’ll be next to the big Bromeliads called Puyas Raymondi, then we will continue going up to the Pastoruri glacier at 5000 masl, and we will enjoy walking in the snow and good for acclimatizing, here we will have lunch, and after the lunch we’ll come back to Pachacoto, then come back to Huaraz arriving at 6pm aprox, overnight Hotel.

3 Day. Huaraz - Musho – Base Camp

After breakfast in the hotel we will be transferred to the trail head Musho at 3100masl, where we will meet our donkey drivers and hike up to the base camp at 4000masl, overnight camping.

4 Day. Base Camp – Camp 1

After moderate breakfast in the morning, start hiking to the moraine camp, sometimes rock climbing for about 3 hours, the climbers start climbing the glacier at 5000masl, and after 2 hours walking in the glacier, arrive to camp 1 and overnight at 5250masl, camping in the glacier.

5 Day. Camp 1 – Camp 2

Today, climbers walk to the Camp 2, for about 3 hours, in case there is no other climbers, if there are other climbers, passengers have to make queue for to pass the channel and it will take more hours for about 4 hours to get the camp 2, overnight at 5950masl, camp in the glacier.

6 Day. Camp 2 – Summit – Camp 2

Climber start climbing at 3am after breakfast and hot strong mate de coca, and climbers will succeed the summit at 8 am aprox, then after to stay for adequate minutes or hours, return to the camp 1 and overnight at 5950masl, camping in the glacier.

7 Day. Camp 2 – Base Camp

Late in the morning climbers start walking down for about 5 hours, and the climbing teem will meet again with donkey drivers, overnight at 4000masl. Camping.

8 Day. Base Camp – Musho – Huaraz

Today the donkey drivers will take the camping gears to Musho where the bus will be waiting and passengers will be transferred to Huaraz, overnight at Hotel in Huaraz.

9 Day. Huaraz – Free Day

Free day, passengers will take free day for shopping or making additional tours around Huaraz, overnight at hotel Huaraz.

10 Day. Huaraz – Lima

Passengers will be transferred to the Bus station after the breakfast in the hotel. 4 hours driving in the Andean area, and 4 hours driving in the coast area along the Pacific Ocean offshore. Arriving to Lima in 8 hours. Then passengers will be transferred to the Hotel in Lima or to the international Airport.
