Climbing Alpamayo

1 Day. Lima – Huaraz

Reception in Huaraz: PERU BERGSPORT personnel will be waiting for the passengers in the bus station, and then transfer to the passengers to the selected Hotel, and briefing for the programs.

2 Day. Huaraz - Acclimatizing tour to Pastoruri

Full day tour, After the breakfast in the Hotel, We will aboard our private bus, and leave to south side Huaraz passing for different small and typical towns of Recuay 3400, Ticapampa 3470, Catac 3640 and the small village Pachacoto 3700, from here we’ll leave the high way and continue in the east side surrounded by a lot of straw and we will start enjoying the beautiful landscape that matches the blue sky and the darkled green hills and far from here the snow peaked white mountains will match the landscape, the first turistic place that we will appreciate will be the Patococha lake, after it we’ll get in to the national park and we’ll find the gasified water from Pumapampa, a few kilometer from here we’ll make stop in a small colored lake called Pumapashimin that Changes its colors caused by solar radiation. At the same time we’ll be next to the big Bromeliads called Puyas Raymondi, then we will continue going up to the Pastoruri glacier at 5000 masl, and we will enjoy walking in the snow and good for acclimatizing, here we will have lunch, and after the lunch we’ll come back to Pachacoto, then come back to Huaraz arriving at 6pm aprox, overnight Hotel.

3 Day. Huaraz – Cashapampa – Llamacorral

We will leave Huaraz around 7 am, so breakfast will be at 6am, passengers will be transferred to the trail head Cashapampa 2900masl, where we will meet our donkey drivers, then we will start hiking by narrow valley, we will go up for about 2 hours, then we will have lunch down the tree’s shadow, then we will start going up moderate almost flat area to the first camp Place Llamacorral at 3800 masl. Overnight camping.

4 Day. Llamacorral – Base Camp Arhuey Cocha

Today we will hike along the valley moderate enjoying the beautiful lakes called Ichicocha and Jatuncocha, turquoise lakes, then we will arrive to nice spot where will have lunch at the place called Quisuar, then after it we will go up to the Alpamayo south base camp, we will get here early and prepare and check our climbing gears for the next day, overnight at 4300masl. 5 Day. Base Camp – Camp 1 After breakfast, We will climb the moraine rocky trail to get the glacier, We will walk the rocky area for about 3 hours, then we will get the glacier at 5000masl, then we will start using our climbing gear, and start climbing for about 2 hours and half, to get the col, at 5600 masl, then for a half hour we have to go down to the high camp 1 at 5400 masl, camp in the glacier.

6 Day. Camp 1 – Summit – Camp 1

Today the breakfast will be at 2 or 3 am in the morning, and we will start climbing using head lamps, and after 1 hour aprox walking in the snow we will get the base of the wall (Ferrari route) the inclination is aprox 75º, then we will start climbing the wall, and after 2 or 3 hours climbing we will succeed the summit, where we will have impressionist white mountain peaks. And after to enjoy for a few minutes we will come dawn rappelling with the help of our guide, arriving to the camp place at 11 or 12 am and just for lunch, and rest in the afternoon, overnight in the glacier at 5400masl.

7 Day. Camp 1 – Base Camp

After the breakfast in the glacier, we will take the same route to go back to the Base Camp, Arriving at 3pm aprox. And camp at 4300 in the base camp.

8 Day. Base Camp – Cashapampa – Huancarhuaz Hot Springs

Today we will come back walking down hill along the Santa Cruz valley, until Cashapampa, then after hard days climbing we will need relax, so we will go to Huancarhuaz Hot Springs, then in the afternoon we will come back to camp in Cashapampa and overnight at 2950masl.

9 Day. Cashapampa – Huaraz

After the last breakfast in the camp we will aboard the bus to go direct to Huaraz arriving at 1pm aprox for Lunch and overnight at Hotel Huaraz.

10 Day. Huaraz free day

Today passengers will have many options, free day for shopping souvenirs, or walking to additional tours. Overnight Hotel Huaraz.

11 Day. Huaraz – Lima

Passengers will be transferred to the Bus station after the breakfast in the hotel. 4 hours driving in the Andean area, and 4 hours driving in the coast area along the Pacific Ocean offshore. Arriving to Lima in 8 hours. Then passengers will be transferred to the Hotel in Lima or to the international Airport.
