Location
The Colomba is found in the Callejon de Huaylas in Huaraz travels through the Negra mountain range (al western) and the Blanca mountain Range (al this). Through Huaraz is considered one of the places but ideals of camping in Peru.

Huaraz lies in a valley called El Callejón de Huaylas which runs between the Cordillera Negra (to the west) and the Cordillera Blanca (to the east). Huaraz is an important climbing, trekking and backpacking center in Peru and provides an excellent base for visitors to the region. The surrounding scenery is magnificent with shining glaciers, sparkling streams and beautiful lakes. The Cordillera Blanca has more than 50 peaks over 5700m above sea level including Huascarán, which at 6768m, is Peru's highest mountain.
