Their parks and full gardens of flowers, recently rejuvenate, they congregate each Sunday to thousands of Limeans attracted by the expositions of painting, musical events and flimarket.
The Olivar Park
It dates of ends of the Colony and their beauty and location has determined its main attractiveness. The forest of olive trees was the same heart of the urbanization. To their surroundings the first residences were built. Until today they are some rakes of those old large houses of century principles. In one of their gentle corners the building of the municipality distrital runs off with.
The hobby of not yet observing birds is very common in Lima although the Peru is the country with the second bigger diversity of birds in the world. In the Olivar Park grove of San Isidro can be observed easily more than 15 species of birds.
The most common birds are the doves: the Tórtola Orejuda, the Cuculí with distinguishing characteristic early sings that gives his name and the Tortolita with its yellow pick.
Among the most colorful it is the Turtupilín with their lit red chest and always making you to notice when settling in the more visible places. Others of colors are the Botón de Oro lit yellow color and the Tángara Azuleja of celestial color.
Looking for with patience in the trees will see the uncombed and nervous Mosqueta Silbadora. Common in the walls and roofs but not for that reason less amusing of observing they are the American Sparrows and the European Sparrows.
San Isidro
It is the district garden of Lima. With extensive green areas and exclusive residential neighborhoods. Here they are some of the most renowned restaurants, bars, hotels and the main offices of almost all the financial entities of the Peru.
Home of prehispanic sanctuaries. The district was made between the viceregal house-country property of the counts of San Isidro and the Huaca Huallamarca. Among them it ran off with, vigorous, a wonderful forest of olive trees.
In the year 1921 with the inauguration of the Arequipa Av. that connects Lima with Miraflores, transformed this rustic nucleus into an extraordinary urban area.
In spite of the unrestrainable advance of the modernity, San Isidro still conserves something of that solemnity of deluxe suburb that characterized it from century principles. Recently, a commercial peak has taken to San Isidro to become an important center of business. Transferred to their modern buildings much of the commercial activity. Their gentle beaches are part of the circuit of the Green Coast.

Real Felipe´s Strength
The Real Felipe´s Strength, also known, as Callao Castles, is one of the few architectural works of characteristic military and the biggest that the Spaniards built in America. This had as main mission the defense of the Callao of the pirates and corsairs; located in the port of the Callao, in the Peru, its went until beginnings of the XIX century, one of the calmest places; being reactivated later, when the winds independentistas began to hit with force the pavilion of Castile. It is there when the viceroy José Fernando de Abascal y Sousa, Marquis of the Concord, orders the construction of a warehouse for the weapons and the artillery, as well as a deposit that could contain water for 2.000 men sieged by four months.
At the moment the Real Felipe´s Strength, is a museum that is in charge of the Army. There the diverse stages can be appreciated that this institution has lived castrates you. The interesting thing of the visit to this strength, is to take contact with an authentic historical monument whose legend arrives so much to its summit with the protagonism that assumed in the defense of Lima, in the combat of May 2 (1866) like in the Pacific war (1879-1883).
Possessor of two entrances, the military enclosure presents the main entrance, guided toward the old Real Road from Lima to the Callao (today avenue Oscar R. Benavides), it has a drawbridge to save the moat of water that originally it surrounded to the strength; as long as the secondary, located in the back part of the strength, it is known as the "Door of the Pardon", because it was used during the place of the Callao (1825) for the deserters that spent to the side patriot.
One of the most impressive areas is the "Gentleman of the Twelve Canyons" that, the same as the turrets, its had capacity to become a strong one impenetrable in the event of the attacker´s occupation, to which could be counterattacked from there; also, of being in the high part of the "Governor´s House", their name is credited to the armament that used: twelve canyons that pointed toward the four sides; besides three retreat lines, each one with canyons pointing against the invaders.
The Governor´s House was the place of the military boss´s of the square lodging. It had carved in their façade the shields of the kings from Spain. Today they are exhibited objects belonging to different military times there, from the Incan one, going by details of the colony, the eminent persons and precursors of the independence of the Peru, until the republican heroes. The bosses of each weapon and specialty of the army also take a reserved place in this monument.
In a separate atmosphere its surrenders homage to the Peruvian women; and to the side where the reservoir or deposit of water was formerly, it highlights the museum of arms, this is, the collection of portable weapons of the museum. They are fist weapons (guns and revolvers). of long reach (you shoot and carbines), and of accompaniment (machine guns, lanzagranadas and mortars).
In the walk for the strength is also the "Park of Armored Vehicles", where they find exposed tanks of different origin; and the "Park of Artillery", in the one that canyons are shown used by the army in diverse stages of the history. A replica of the front part of the "Answer House" is also exhibited and beside this replica it is the Monument to the "Unknown Soldier."
Finally, the two turrets are. On one hand, that of the Queen, considered inside the Real Felipe´s defensive outline, the same as that of the King, like a strength inside the strength. This area was equipped with deposits of ammunition, provisions and until with a well with water. It possesses a semicircular prison in which the detainees remained of foot the whole time. At the beginning the turret had two levels with platforms of canyons, but its modified with the war with Chile (1879-1883), since it was needed to contribute to the defense of the Chalaco port. It was eliminated the superior level simply and they got ready four platforms for revolvable canyons Vavaseaur, one of those which still exists in the museum.
The King´s Turret has three levels (base, machón y mirador), in two of those which there are platforms with canyons; the first one with 24 of iron, and the second with eight of brass. The interior was a búnker, it likens a labyrinth that possessed all that adapted to resist any attack. The bridge of weighing access completed the security. The same as the Queen´s turret, that of the King was modified in the Pacific war, being eliminated the superior levels and being mounted two platforms for revolvable canyons. The time made its paper and left it in ruins, but it has been restored to its original form.
Both turrets acted in their moment like a true trap for the enemy, and it gave its continental prestige.
