The province of Moquegua is located in the coast of the southern territory and
it comprises coastal and Andean zones.
The city of Moquegua is characterized by its colonial and traditional houses with
baroque elements on its fronts and figures carved in relief. Some of the most
outstanding are: The Regidor Perpetuo House. The Fernandez de Cordova House. The
Samuel Ordoñez House. The Doctor Martinez House and The Jimenez de la Flor House.

Tourist Site Attractions:
Samegua district, located at 5 kilometers of Moquegua. It is characterized by an
architecture with colonial traits and several and varied fruit orchards. This
town is known as "La Ciudad de las Paltas".
Torata district, located in the province of Mariscal Nieto, at 24 kilometers from
the city of Moquegua. A place that has beautiful village houses, the imposing
Parish Church and the stone mills.
Archeological remains of Cerro Baul, ceremonial site where the Cuchunas offered
resistance to the advance of the Incas. They are called like that due to the
shape of the mountain that shelters them which resembles a trunk. It is located
at 24 kilometers from the city of Moquegua.
Valley of Omate, contry town of General Sanchez Cerro. It is located at 147 kilometers
of Moquegua. It is surrounded by beautiful landscapes with outstanding vineyards
which produce delicious wine and pisco. This city is considered the most
important fruit producer of the region.
Its main attractiveness are: The Virreinal Church. The Sanctuary of Quinistacas.
The Ulucan thermal baths. And the Tambo river.
